Alex Jacobson has not only volunteered to present at the next meeting, he’s also arranged a location for us. We’ll be meeting at 7:30pm at the Powerset offices: 475 Brannan St. – San Francisco, CA 94107. We’ll be ordering pizza, so please RSVP.
Alex will be presenting Building Scalable Internet Applications in Haskell Using HAppS. His talk will cover:
- a brief history of HAppS and why Haskell’s laziness, referential transparency, and type-system are important for these sorts of apps.
- an outline of HAppS architecture
- a tour through building a blogger like application using HAppS
- an explanation of how HAppS can scale as needed.
Alex — thanks in advance for volunteering to present and for arranging the space. I’m really looking forward to it.
Hope to see everybody there.
